The Innertube Studio is
owned and operated primarily by Nick Kucel (pictured above). Nick
has dedicated his life to audio, and that's why you can be sure your
music is in the right hands. Many interesting things can be said
of Mr. Kucel and his accomplishments, but most important is the fact
that he loves music, really enjoys people, is easy to work with and is
very handsome.
RECORDING:
1981-1987
Experimented heavily with ping-pong recording from tape deck to tape
deck
(crickets chirping, direct line guitars, budgeted drum miking, delay)
Wrote nearly fifty songs in this time period, analyzed contemporary
recordings
1988-1991 Guitarist/singer in musical ensemble
"Perpetual Annihilation", continued recording
(went to a few "real" studios and watched closely, picked up
many
tricks)
Learned several fundamentals of recording, started purchasing project gear
1992-1994 Obtained three four-track
recorders: two cassette, one 3/8" reel to reel
Recorded a hundred songs or so, started working with artists
Began purchasing respectable microphones, reverbs, quality drums
1995-1997 Obtained an 8 track recorder and
Computer
Began attending formal college for Electrical Engineering
Worked on own band "Peggie
Suicyde" recorded four albums
Charged minimal fees for recording services, purchased recording books
Obtained computers, began digital editing, obtained CD recorder, MIDI
Graphics editing, experimented with digital multitrack recording
1998-2000 Obtained several excellent recording
technique books
Purchased several compressors, quality condenser microphones
Pre-mastering secrets learned, stereo miking techniques
Wiring, mic preamplifers, proper instrument equalization
Drum set maintenance, audio engineering, impedance matching
Monitoring, nodes, digital delay tricks, complex multitrack editing
Purchased high-quality 24 bit multitrack computer interface
Completed B.S. degree.
2000-2001 Frequently record various musical
ensembles, rock - country - rap - pop
Purchased several large pressure gradient condenser microphones
Tube mic preamplifiers, subtle compression techniques, premastering
Updated studio wiring - resultant schematic on file
Modifing JFET preamplifiers in microphones - switching to 12AT7 valves
2001-2002 Purchased all new studio cables, new
mixing desk, all new compressors
New vacuum tube microphone, new mastering techniques learned
Modifying the studio layout (new drum room coming)
Purchased new studio monitors, several recording books
Pro caliber drum tuning techniques, new active bass guitar
Construced several bass traps, purchased additional acoustic treatment
Recording process streamlined, ALL NEW GEAR!!!!!!!
2003 -2004 Through Innertube Studio recordings several
clients were signed to record labels
and the studio has expanded with a new drum room and small lounge.
You can use MIDI
drum triggers on any or all the drums.
2004
-2010 Established as the premiere
affordable recording studio in western Pennsylvania by
continuously providing the highest quality recording at a reasonable
hourly rate.
The studio is a mainstay for local musicians in the Beaver County
